Town-crest steins, Volkswanderung glasses & swing-top Bierkrug jugs...
Visit Shop 103, where German beer steins painted with coats of arms of towns in Rhineland-Palatinate fill the glass corner case and shelves. Stoneware steins with hinged pewter lids name Kindsbach, Landstuhl and Weinort Grolsheim, the last showing a blue cross over two red roses. A clear glass stein with a pewter lid bears the Rheinland-Pfalz state arms: a red cross, a white wheel and a gold lion on black.
Commemorative glassware from Volkswanderung hiking events sits alongside the German beer steins. A matched pair from the 22nd International Volkswanderung in 1998, hosted by Wanderfreunde Lambsborn, shows a perched bird of prey on a gold banner. A second tall glass marks the 1996 Volkswandertag of WF “Gut Fuß” Dansenberg with a Man o’War sailing ship, and a third carries the blue Reichweiler Teufelskopf-Wanderer shield. Plain stoneware includes a crown-stamped No. 6 crock, a gray crock with lug handles and two brown-top jugs.
Elsewhere in the shop you can find hand-woven splint baskets with swing handles, one with a wooden lid and one with a flag-print fabric liner. A cream pitcher and fluted pie plate with blue stenciled trim sit in front of a boxed Pampered Chef Classics piece. Better Homes & Gardens Christmas from the Heart and Celebrate the Season annuals line a bookcase, several still in their Meredith shipping mailers. For similar finds, check out the vintage advertising signs and breweriana at Shop 50 and the handmade stoneware crocks and mugs in Shop 105.
